Our Story

Built for the solo worker, by someone who gets it.

GetSoloTools is a free collection of practical tools for freelancers, consultants, and independent professionals who need to get things done — without subscriptions or bloat.

Why GetSoloTools exists

Running solo means wearing every hat — designer, accountant, marketer, and project manager — all at once. Most tools are built for teams, which means they're over-engineered, expensive, or require a login just to generate an invoice.

GetSoloTools is different. Every tool here is free, runs in your browser, and does exactly what it says on the tin. No accounts. No upsells. No data collection. Just tools that actually help.

Who GetSoloTools is for

GetSoloTools is built specifically for independent workers: freelancers, consultants, contractors, and self-employed professionals who run their own business without a team behind them.

Whether you're a designer invoicing your first client, a developer calculating project profitability, a writer protecting your work with an NDA, or a consultant planning your quarterly taxes — these tools are built for the realities of solo work.

We focus on the US freelance market, where self-employment tax, quarterly estimated payments, and state-specific payment laws create unique financial complexity. Our tools reflect that context.

How the tools work

Every tool on GetSoloTools runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server. When you generate an invoice, estimate your taxes, or create a contract, that information stays on your device.

Downloads (PDFs, documents) are created locally in your browser and saved directly to your device. We never see, store, or process any of the information you enter into our tools.

The tools we offer

Our current toolkit covers the core financial and legal needs of freelancers: invoicing and receipts, quotes and proposals, contracts and NDAs, tax estimation, hourly rate calculation, late payment fees, project profit analysis, budget planning, invoice tracking, time tracking, milestone payment planning, and savings calculation.

We also maintain a growing blog covering freelance best practices — from writing your first contract to negotiating rates, managing client relationships, and planning for taxes as a self-employed professional.
